The history about Kong Karl Johan

Karl Johan was born in france. he did a military career. that brought him to fight under napoleon. in this time in sweden the king was set down by lieutenants because he lost the war against russia and finland. his childless brother was elected as the new king. because he was childless he adopted a norvegian revolutionair as crownprince. but this guy died soon after getting to sweden. so the french revolutionair called Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte was elected as the new crownprince. he did a good job in the war, this time against napoleon, and so he got as a gift a part of norway. with norway he attacked denmark to get norway independent of denmark. finally after a discussion round norway was under Karl Johan in a swedish norvegian union. Karl Johan was in "service" from 1818-1844. (1905 norway finally got independent)

The king's words

Visiting Oslo i found this sentence:

it means the love of the people is my reward...
sounds like a good king but i have to research a little bit about that...

drammen...

Oslotrip....

On sunday evening or better night i caught the bus in trondheim trainstation to oslo. after about eight hours travel through the norvegian night and a light sleep i arrived in oslo. the first task was some sightseeing in oslo. i started with the main road called Karl Johans Gate. It leeds to the castle where the king of norway lives. i wasso lucky to see the "guards" changing their shift. it was a funny thing to look at.... then i went to akerhus castle which used to be a fort to protect oslo from the sea. there a "guard" showed me to go down again. it seemed like i was not allowed to see the canons. anyway i went further back to the center where i soon toke the train to drammen where i met matthias. he had a norsonic meeting there. i was invited to stay at the hotel where the meeting was. but before i joined them for dinner i went to visit some old neighbores living in our old village not so long from drammen. it was very interesting to see my "childhood" area and discover the things which weren't in my mind anymore. unfortunately i wasn't abel to see the father of the family because his bus didn't go this day. back in the hotel i met all the norsonic chiefs and had dinner. it was good to eat a good piece of meat after some time without.....then after the winetest and some talking it was time to go to bed (i was pretty tired because the bus isn't so comfortable to sleep in;) ). the next morning i enjoyed the breakfast buffet. then i took a little tour in town and after a stop in Dressman, which was recommended by my dad, i went back to the hotel with a new pull-over ( unbelievable cheap 50 kroners = 10 sfr = 8 dolars = 6 euro). after get all my stuff, it was lot more than before ( the order was: chocolate, snowboard inkl. boots and helmet, beer, gin, apples of MY tree), i took the train back to oslo. unfortunately i wasn't able to visit the town anymore with all that stuff so i went to the busstation. After i waited hm about two hours i traveled back home. and the tour seemed to be a lot longer than driving at night. anyway arrived in trondheim my next goal was to drive up the hill with the bike and all the stuff. finally totaly sweat i managed to do this as well ;).... now thank you very much dad and all the guys at home who helped to get the stuff ready !!!! anyway i enjoyed it very much.....

The use of plastic bags

In a shop when you pay they will always ask you:" Pose??"(puse). That means plastic bag in norvegian. They are you useful for a lot of things... the normal way to carry stuff, as a garbage bag, as a slide in the snow, etc. here you can often see that plastic bags are on saddles of bikes. i asked my self what do they do there. the answer was keeping the saddle dry, or keep the humidity inside the saddle.... either way is possible. it depends on if you remember to cover the saddle before it rains, or if you forget it....
